My March Fairyloot boxing is FINALLY HERE! This box honestly took forever to arrive. I signed up to FairyLoot for the first time in 2-years in January, I think, and it arrived today 😅 Completely understand though that this was out of FairyLoot's control due to supplier/shipping issues (damn Brexit!) but it's here now and I'm really excited to tear it open, especially knowing that there's a Bear and the Nightingale inspired item inside! Before we get started, here's a quick reminder of the March 2021 theme reveal: We are so excited to reveal the March theme for our monthly box and it is… FROZEN FABLES! 💙 Have you ever noticed how peaceful the world seems after snowfall? How a hush falls over the landscape whenever it snows? And as beautiful as it may be, do you ever wonder which monsters may be hiding or perhaps resting in the silence…? 💙 In this box you can expect items inspired by The Bear and the Nightingale, Wintersong, Spinning Silver, Wicked Saints, Winterwood and Even The Darkest Stars. We are thrilled to reveal that one of the items in this box is a ceramic mug featuring artwork by the brilliant @monolimeart! 💙 Our featured book of the month is a thrilling story inspired by Russian folklore — this epic tale is set in a wintery backdrop and is filled with fables, romance, tragedy, magic and monsters! We’re going all out on customisations again this month and you can expect LOTS of customisations for all of our upcoming boxes too! This edition will have an EXCLUSIVE COVER, SHIMMERY SPRAYED EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET, FOIL EMBOSSING ON THE CASE and will have CUSTOM ENDPAPERS SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. I am HERE for those shimmer sprayed edges! Right, that's enough waiting, let's crack this puppy open! Obviously, there will be spoilers beyond this point so look away now if you don't want to see what's inside this box. Oh, my, this is pretty! Also, can I take a second to stop and admire my backdrop which was accidentally perfect for this box since it looks like snow!? As always, we're treated to a gorgeous art print, doubling as this month's spoiler card, designed by the fantastic Tara Spruit. Next up, I see a mug box!! This mug is gorgeous! My photos really don't do the beautiful artwork, designed by Bon Orthwick, enough justice. The detail is stunning, and the little snowflake inside is too cute. This item was inspired by, you guessed it, The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. It's gorgeous and way too pretty to use (I have broken almost every single mug/glass I own!) BOOK SOCKS!! I LOVE BOOK SOCKS! I don't even care what fandom this is, they're pretty and cute and I love them. They're designed by Jennifer Hawkyard and inspired by Even The Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. The phone ring holder is really cool as well. I've never owned one of these before but I actually think it's going to be really useful. It's really pretty too, with gorgeous artwork by Iron & Ink Designs and inspired by Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw. I loved The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw but haven't read Winterwood yet. I honestly thought that this notebook was the featured book when I saw all the pretty blue and gold peeking out of the box but it's actually a beautiful un-lined notebook and I'm a little bit in love with it. It's giving me major Beauty and the Beast vibes but is inspired by Wintersong by S. Jae Jones (another book I haven't read) with really beautiful art by Tara Spruit. On the cover is a quote from Wintersong that reads: A candle unused is nothing by wax and wick. I would rather light the flame, knowing it will go out, than sit in darkness. Wow, honestly, that quote alone has made me want to read this book. The second item is a really pretty headband designed by the super talented Catarina Book Designs. The artwork is beautiful, with a great wintery aesthetic and the headband itself is super cute. I'm going to love wearing this. (I'm not going to be talking about the author, or the book this item was inspired by, following the problematic behaviour recently brought to light and FairyLoot's decision to no longer support this author.) I'm really loving the art in this box. It's truly stunning! The print on the left is inspired by Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (nope, I haven't read that either) and while you can't really see it in the photo above, it's incredibly shiny and covered in gold foil. This gorgeous print was designed by warickart. FairyLoot have also been included tarot cards in their boxes for a while now. The two pictured above are designed by The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden and were designed by Arzzz. Okay, who's ready for the book?! Oh my goodness, this book is pretty. The whole thing is like a bluey/silver foil and it's stunning. Here's the synopsis for The Bright & The Pale by Jessica Rubinkowski: Seventeen-year-old Valeria is one of the only survivors of the freeze, a dark magical hold Knnot Mountain unleashed over her village. Everyone, including her family, is trapped in an unbreakable sheet of ice. Ever since, she’s been on the run from the Czar, who is determined to imprison any who managed to escape. Valeria finds refuge with the Thieves Guild, doing odd jobs with her best friend Alik, the only piece of home she has left. That is, until he is brutally murdered. A year later, she discovers Alik is alive and being held against his will. To buy his freedom, she must lead a group of cutthroats and thieves on a perilous expedition to the very mountain that claimed her family. Only something sinister slumbers in the heart of Knnot. And it has waited years for release. CW: death of a family member, discrimination, childhood trauma, work camps I love that it comes with trigger warnings!! 👏👏👏 Okay, so that was a lot for a synopsis. It sounds like it'll be a very interesting, action-packed read. I'm saving this one until the FairyLoot read-a-long which will be my first. Let's take a look at this gorgeous book in all it's glory! So that's:
This book is honestly stunning, I just hope the story itself lives up to the book! To finish off this unboxing, we have another beautiful art print, doubling as the letter from the author, with artwork inspired by the featured book, designed by Gabsternaught. This art is incredibly beautiful, and I'm guessing this is the main character of the novel. Colour me intrigued! Finally, we have a pretty Frozen Fables bookmark. I love collecting bookmarks! Overall, this box was fantastic and most definitely worth the wait!
Thanks so much for checking out my unboxing! If you prefer watching unboxing videos, go check out my Instagram stories! I'll try to get this one up soon! Now tell me, which items do you like the look of? Let me know in the comments! Comments are closed.
