HOW IS IT SEPTEMBER ALREADY!?!?! 😱😱😱 So, I'm freaking out a little because I have a ton of deadlines coming up this year with work and then Christmas is on the horizon and I feel a bit like time is flying and just dragging me along for a ride that I'm just not ready for! Anyway, onto something a little more positive, here's my August 2018 book roundup. I started 9 books this month and finished 7, as I'm still reading two. Here's a closer look at the books I read in August (just click on the title to head over to the review): Admiring Ash by Anyta Sunday - This was a really sweet read from one of my favourite romance authors. It's the start of a new series and I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the characters. #Jerk by Kat T. Masen - This book was my first 'below 3 star' review. It held a lot of problems for me and so, if you do click on the link, be prepared for a very spoiler heavy review. Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby - I LOVED THIS BOOK! It broke me out of a bit of a reading slump after a few books that I didn't particularly enjoy, and I'm looking forward to discovering more from these two authors. To Be Honest by Maggie Ann Martin (Xpresso Blog Tours eARC) - This was easily my favourite book of the month! I loved every single thing about this body positive book and I'm desperate for more from this author. Dark Desires by Eve Silver - I really enjoyed this book, a lot more than I expected it to. It was a fantastic, Gothic romance with lots of mystery, suspense and sizzling chemistry. It was like a mixture between Downton Abbey and Whitechapel and I would highly recommend it! The Soul Keepers by Devon Taylor (Xpresso Blog Tours eARC) - This book took me by surprise in a great way. I loved the mixture of Greek mythology and pirates! Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec (NetGalley eARC) - I loved the final instalment of this modern-day fairytale retelling. In typical Sivec style, this book was lots of fun, featuring a strong heroine, powerful friendships and a guaranteed HEA. I only bought one book this month: Mirage by Somaiya Daud - this was a very impulsive buy because it looks so pretty and I just couldn't leave it!! As is becoming tradition, I have absolutely no idea what eBooks I bought this month.
Have you read any of these? What do you think? I hope you've enjoyed my August 2018 book roundup! I have my fingers crossed for an even better month of reading next month! |
