Hello lovelies! How's your weekend going? I've decided to take a little break from the usual Sunday book tag this week to do a post on some of my most anticipated reads of 2021! I honestly cannot wait until these books are released and I hope they give you a little TBR inspiration as well. Okay, so first of all, go read The House in the Cerulean Sea (yep, I'm still recommending this one as much as I possibly can!) I've been a Klune fan for quite a while now, falling in love first with his Tales of Verania series and The Bones Beneath My Skin. Last year, The House in the Cerulean Sea completely blew me away and when TJ Klune announced that he'd be releasing Under the Whispering Door in 2021, a story about a ghost that falls in love with the man who's supposed to be helping him move on, I was immediately hooked! This is one of those stories I won't even think about buying, in fact, I already have it on pre-order and can't wait to read it! For those who loved TJ Klune's 2020 YA debut, The Extraordinaries, the sequel, Flash Fire, will also be released later this year and I'm really looking forward to it. Simon James Green is another one of my auto-buy authors. I couldn't get enough of his last two YA novels, Alex in Wonderland and Heartbreak Boys and now I'm really excited to read, You're the One that I Want, a queer Grease re-telling that I am oh, so ready for! I am here for this epic, blood-thirsty book from Jay Kristoff! Nevernight and Godsgrave are two of the best books I've read and I can't wait to see what Kristoff does with vampires in Empire of the Vampire, especially after reading the tweets that went alongside his viewing of Vampire Diaries which were hysterical! I managed to snag a copy of Lore by Alexandra Bracken from Waterstones for my birthday and it sounds really exciting, like Percy Jackson meets The Hunger Games. I've not read anything by this author before, so I'm really looking forward to trying it out. I was really lucky to receive an ARC copy of Malice by Heather Walter from Rachel at DelRayUK and I can't wait to read it. Maleficent is one of my absolute favourite Disney movies. Malice is a queer, feminist Sleeping Beauty re-telling that sounds utterly perfect! Plus, that cover promises all sorts of wickedness that I can't wait to fall into. The Infinity Courts by Akemi Dawn Bowman sounds really bizarre, but in a great way. An eighteen-year-old girl, Nami, dies and when entering the afterlife finds that it's being run by a malicious AI that wants to completely eradicate human life on Earth. Nami must work with a team of rebels to defeat the AI while facing what it really means to be human. Sounds intriguing! These two books sound brilliant and I'm really excited to discover two authors I haven't read before. May the Best Man Win by ZR Ellor sounds like a really fun enemies-to-lovers, sort of, style slow burn and Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee sounds adorable and includes one of my favourite tropes (fake relationship!) They both seem like perfect, light-hearted reads and I'm all for a bit of comfort-reading in 2021. The last book I'm going to mention today sounds really fun! Another new-to-me author, Jason June, has written a book about a queer boy living in a conservative town who makes a gay bucket list, also known as Jay's Gay Agenda. Then, when his family unexpectedly move to a much more accepting, liberal town, he gets to try out some of the things on his list. I'm not going to lie, it sounds like a riot! Now tell me, what 2021 book releases are you excited for? Let me know in the comments!
