Happy Friday!!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS WEEKEND!!
Me and my sister are off to our first ever book festival! We're hitting the NYALit Festival in Preston and I'm so excited I'll probably be screaming the entire way there! ???
I'll be doing a full rundown of my time at the festival afterwards and will share as many pics as I can get, so look out for that post next week! Now, on to this week's #Friday56 post! The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. There are only 4 rules:
Today's book is my current read, or listen if you want to get technical, Leah on the Offbeat which I'm listening to on my free Audible trial.
Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:
Leah Burke—girl-band drummer, master of deadpan, and Simon Spier’s best friend from the award-winning Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—takes center stage in this novel of first love and senior-year angst. When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic. An anomaly in her friend group, she’s the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon. So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended. Here's my chosen quote from page 56 of the paperback: '"Read the rest of the summary."
I think one of the things I was most looking forward to about this book was seeing how Simon and Bram were doing, and so this quote works perfectly.
I'm almost finished listening to this so my full review will be up very soon! Have you read this? Share your thoughts and links in the comments below, and have a wonderful weekend! Oh, and do let me know if you'll be at the festival! I'd love to say hi! 20/7/2018 17:38:16
