I feel so lucky to have received two FairyLoot boxes this month, it feels like this one has come early since the last one was delayed, but I have a feeling that this one is going to have to keep me going for a while as both FairyLoot and Illumicrate have reported delays with the May boxes due to the Suez Canal blockage. I'm not going to waste anytime jumping into this one because I am too excited! So, let's just have a quick recap of the April theme: You might think you know who someone truly is, but what if they are keeping a secret? A secret that could change everything… for the better or for the worse? As Phaedrus wisely said, “things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many”. 💜 In this box you can expect items inspired by The Shadows Between Us, The Lord of the Rings, The City of Brass, Flame in the Mist and a foiled bookmark set inspired by the following fandoms: An Ember in the Ashes, The Poppy War and Blood Heir. For now, we won’t be revealing any item artists but we will say that we are featuring an item in this box that we have NEVER included before! 💜 Our featured book of the month is a dark fantasy filled with unforgettable characters, intrigue, magic and a dash of swoon-worthy romance. We were hooked from page one and all of the plot twists still have us reeling! This FairyLoot exclusive edition will have an EXCLUSIVE COVER, STENCIL & SPRAYED EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET by @alicemariapower, FOIL EMBOSSING ON THE CASE by @talia.nobel, BONUS CONTENT in the book and will be SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Okay, let's do this! As always, there will be spoilers beyond this point so look away now if you don't want to see what's inside this box. I absolutely love FairyLoot's theme art, designed as always by the incredible @taratjah. She always manages to capture the theme so beautifully and, as such, FairyLoot have the best theme art of any box I've seen. The first thing I pulled out of the box was the handmade soap from Little Heart Gifts. This soap is a really pretty. It's white and pink and reminds me of the cherry blossoms i have in the garden. It smells gorgeous and I can't wait to use it! This item was inspired by The Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. The enamel pin is incredibly pretty! It's inspired by The Deavabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty and was designed by @_iceydesigns. I really love the colours of this pin. The artwork pictured above is inspired by this months book. I love the detail that @talia.nobel has captured here and, as always, this art print doubles as a letter from the author. OMG these gold metal bookends are stunning. The bookends are a set of two, inspired by The Lord of the Rings and designed by @jezhawk! I honestly can't get over how beautiful these are. I really don't want to hide them at the ends of a row of books, so I'm going to have a think about how to display these to really show them off! Next up we have an absolutely whopping tote bag! This thing is huge and it is stunning! The bag is inspired by the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and the artwork by @arz28 is incredible. There's so much detail! Okay, so, I had a slight issue in that these items arrived a bit bent as they weren't quite packaged right and the book was squashing then BUT thankfully, there's only a slight bend and I'm hoping they'll straighten out if I weigh them down a bit because they are GORGEOUS! The tarot cards this month are inspired by Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin and designed by the very talented @morgana0anagrom. The foiled bookmarks really shimmer in the light and are inspired by The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang, Blood Heir by Amelia When Zhao and An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. They were all designed by @talia.nobel and the artwork is just beautiful. Right, who's ready for the book? I know I am! OMG, OMG, OMG! I have heard AMAZING things about this book and I am so, so excited to read it! Here's the synopsis for The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni: Seventeen-year-old Kiva Meridan has spent the last ten years fighting for survival in the notorious death prison, Zalindov, working as the prison healer. When the Rebel Queen is captured, Kiva is charged with keeping the terminally ill woman alive long enough for her to undergo the Trial by Ordeal: a series of elemental challenges against the torments of air, fire, water, and earth, assigned to only the most dangerous of criminals. Then a coded message from Kiva’s family arrives, containing a single order: “Don’t let her die. We are coming.” Aware that the Trials will kill the sickly queen, Kiva risks her own life to volunteer in her place. If she succeeds, both she and the queen will be granted their freedom. But no one has ever survived. With an incurable plague sweeping Zalindov, a mysterious new inmate fighting for Kiva’s heart, and a prison rebellion brewing, Kiva can’t escape the terrible feeling that her trials have only just begun. This sounds so good!! I'm getting A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Hunger Games vibes! What do you think? Is this one on your TBR? This book came with A LOT of customisations. It has:
Honestly, this might just be the prettiest book I have EVER seen! I'm in love with it! I feel really spoiled by this box! It's fantastic and I love absolutely everything in it!
