We are officially halfway through 2018!! 😱 How did that happen?!? This year has been fantastic so far, and it's quite possibly my best reading year of all time! It's also seen the start of this very blog and I couldn't be happier with it, and just wanted to again thank everyone who's dropped in, read my posts, commented, shared and subscribed! 😊 I've had so many blogs planned for the past two weeks but with work being a little crazy this time of year, and my daughter's birthday on the horizon, I haven't managed to do half as much as I'd have liked to, so I'm trying to catch up this weekend, starting with my June book roundup! I started eight books this month, and finished seven, as I'm still reading Nevernight (although I'll probably have that finished later tonight)! Here's a closer look at the books I read in June 2018 (just click on the title to head over to the review): Killing It by Asia Mackay (NetGalley eARC) - This book grabbed my attention while I was lost in the depths of NetGalley. It's a spy story with a very feminist twist and I really enjoyed the 'mum'-humour. Legendary by Stephanie Garber - Legendary was fantastic! 😍 I absolutely loved this book and it's definitely one of my favourite reads this month! Now, to try and wait patiently for Finale! Amid Stars and Darkness by Chani Lynn Feener - This was my only re-read this month and I'm so glad I took the time to reacquaint myself with these fantastic characters in preparation for book 2! Running With Lions by Julian Winters - I'm a little ashamed that this was my only LGBT book this month, but it was a very good one. This is a super sweet 'friends to enemies to lovers' romance that is perfect for summer! Between Frost and Fury by Chani Lynn Feener (Paperback ARC) - I absolutely loved the second instalment in this ya, sci-fi series. I've been looking forward to it forever and my review will go live on July 16th as part of the Blog Tour hosted by Xpresso Tours! Captivating Melody by Katherine McIntyre (eARC) - This book was a surprise last-minute addition to this month's TBR, but I devoured this paranormal romance. It was such a good start to the series! When Life Gives You Demons by Jennifer Honeybourn (NetGalley eARC) - Whilst I did read the whole book, hoping it would grip me, I just couldn't connect with this book and so sadly, I won't be reviewing this one. I was hoping to read more LGBT books for Pride month 🏳🌈 but I got a little sidetracked by all of the ARCS. Hopefully, July will bring more LGBT rep my way! 🤞 Have you read any of the books on my list? What did you think? Books I bought this month:
Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff (Waterstones) Stardust by Neil Gaiman (Charity Bookshop) Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman (Charity Bookshop) M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman (Charity Bookshop) The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas (Charity Bookshop) Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian (Waterstones) Circe by Madeline Miller (Waterstones) The Surface Breaks by Louise O' Neill (Waterstones) I know I've bought some eBooks but I can't remember which ones! 🤦 I also received two book boxes this month which included: Grace & Fury by Tracy Banghart in the Fairy Loot June 'Rebels in Ballgowns' Box All of This Is True by Lygia Day Penaflor in the Book Box Club June 'Bad Girls' Box The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke in the Book Box Club June 'Bad Girls' Box Have you read any of these? Which would you recommend? Keep an eye out for my next post where I'll be sharing what's on my ARC shelf! 😃 Comments are closed.
