Happy Friday! I can't tell you how glad I am that it's finally Friday. This week has been ridiculous and yesterday saw me pulling my hair out as my laptop died a very painful death 😭😭😭 I'm trying to distract myself with blog posts and reading, so I'm jumping back into the Friday 56 meme. The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. There are only 4 rules:
The book I've chosen to feature today is the next book on my TBR. Tempests and Slaughter by Tamora Pierce is a YA Fantasy novel that promises lots of magic and I can't wait to dig in! Check out the Goodreads synopsis below (and click the cover image to add to your TBR): Arram Draper is a boy on the path to becoming one of the realm’s most powerful mages. The youngest student in his class at the Imperial University of Carthak, he has a Gift with unlimited potential for greatness–and for attracting danger. At his side are his two best friends: Varice, a clever girl with an often-overlooked talent, and Ozorne, the “leftover prince” with secret ambitions. Together, these three friends forge a bond that will one day shape kingdoms. And as Ozorne gets closer to the throne and Varice gets closer to Arram’s heart, Arram begins to realize that one day soon he will have to decide where his loyalties truly lie. In the Numair Chronicles, readers will be rewarded with the never-before-told story of how Numair Salmalín came to Tortall. Newcomers will discover an unforgettable fantasy adventure where a kingdom’s future rests on the shoulders of a talented young man with a knack for making vicious enemies. Here's my chosen quote from 56% (I had to choose this carefully to avoid spoiling anything for myself): Slowly Arram smiled. Ozorne's sense of humour could take a cruel turn, it was true, but he meant no harm. And it was good to be back, among pretty girls, eating warm meals, and bathing in hot water. Best of all, he had four days before he had to haul himself out of bed at dawn, ready for school. Who knew? He might even be able to produce some magic by then. I'm really excited to read this book and I have my fingers crossed for a good read!
What do you think? Would you read this? Let me know what you're reading in the comments below, and have a great weekend!

I am so sorry about your computer. That would really stink. :-( I haven't read anything by Tamora Pierce before, although I have heard great things about her work. This one sounds especially good! I hope you love it. Have a great weekend.
