Tell Me Something Tuesday: Rereading! First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros!

Tell Me Something Tuesday
Hi all!

I hope you're having a good week so far! I really enjoyed the two new memes I joined last week, so I'm going to stick with them again this week, I hope you enjoy!

First up, we have:

Tell Me Something Tuesday which is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where a wide range of topics are discussed from books to blogging.

This week's topic is 'For those who don’t have time to reread series, what would you reread when you found the time?'

I'm one of those people who loves to re-read books but in between running a business, being a mum, running my blog and trying to have some semblance of a normal life (yeah, right), I don't get to do this as often as I'd like.

I used to re-read The Night Circus (featured below) by Erin Morgenstern religiously each year. It was the first book I buddy read with my partner and we both fell in love with it. Each time I read it I feel like I uncover some new secret as I'm transported back to the mysterious circus, but I just haven't had time to do it the past two years and it's looking unlikely this year too.

Since my daughter is now four, I've been re-reading some of my childhood favourites to her. We've been working our way through a range of Brother's Grimm fairy tales alongside a book called The Dragon's Eye. I can't wait until she's ready for me to read Harry Potter with her as I've been waiting to re-read the series for years!!

Other than those few books, the only other books I re-read are shorter contemporary romances, books I know I love and can read quickly, usually in just a few hours to put me in a good mood. These books are limited to three of my favourite romance authors; Tara Sivec, Sophie Jordan and R.L. Mathewson. Their books always make me smile.

What about you? What would you reread when you had the time?
Up next is the First Chapter, First Paragraph - Tuesday Intros meme.
First Paragraph, First Chapter, Tuesday Intros
This is a weekly blog meme hosted by Vicki, from I’d Rather Be At The Beach and the idea is to post the first paragraph (or two) of the first chapter of a book you are currently reading or that you want to read.

To fit with the topic of Tell Me Something Tuesday, I've chosen to share the first chapter of one of my all time favourite rereads, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
The circus arrives without warning.
No announcements precede it, no paper notices on downtown posts and billboards, no mentions or advertisements in local newspapers. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.
The towering tents are striped in white and black, no golds and crimsons to be seen. No color at all, save for the neighboring trees and the grass of the surrounding fields. Black-and-white stripes on grey sky; countless tents of varying shapes and sizes, with an elaborate wrought-iron fence encasing them in a colorless world. Even what little ground is visible from outside is black or white, painted or powdered, or treated with some other circus trick.
But it is not open for business. Not just yet.
What do you think? Would you/have you read this?

I read this one years ago and although it wasn't my preferred genre, I did think it was pretty good. Hope you like it.

I'm currently re-reading The Gateway Chronicles. The series is getting an update this summer with some expanded scenes so it get to review them again too. I usually re-read one series during the summer but it wasn't looking like it would be possible until now. Other favorite series to re-read is Harry Potter and All Souls Trilogy. See what I'm featuring at Girl Who Reads

I have been meaning to read this book. I'm more interested than ever when I hear that it is a favorite of yours. I enjoy re-reading and make time for it as often as possible. This week I am featuring Wild Hunger by Chloe Neill. Happy reading!

I have not read this series at all, nor have I heard of it. What genre does this fit into? I am interested in this book just by the 1st paragraph. I will have to put this on my TBR!

Thanks for being a part of TMST this week. I really need to reread the Night Circus. I listened to it, and I don’t think the audibook captured the magic. I am looking forward to rereading HP again with my two kids. Have a lovely week!

Thanks Heidi :) I'm really loving being a part of this meme!! I haven't tried the audio book, I think I love reading the paperback too much, if that makes sense. Happy reading :)

I tried and failed to get into The Night Circus. I used to re-read books frequently but with reading for my blog I rarely do so now which is a shame as there is nothing more comforting than snuggling down with a book that you know and love

That's a shame Cleo, sorry it wasn't for you. Yeah, I wish I had more time to re-read!
