I haven't done a book tag in a really, really long time and I stumbled across this one on BookTube and just had to do it!
So, we're almost at the end of 2020....
This tag is supposed to be done a little earlier in the year but, in my opinion, it's never too late to talk about books! So, let's give it a whirl!
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
Yes! I'm reading Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith right now for the Turn the Page book club, which I'm planning to finish before we record the next podcast (fingers crossed).
I also started The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter two months ago and I STILL haven't finished reading it but I desperately want to. It started fantastically, full of action, and I can't wait to find out what happens next! I WILL finish these books this year.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Ummmm. No. This question is probably a bit late for this year. But, I do have a winter book that I want to read before the year's out. Two, actually.
I want to re-read Shrewd Angel by Anyta Sunday, which is a super-sweet Christmas rom-com. It's a slow burn with lots of cute feels. I haven't read it since last Christmas but really want to read it again. I also want to try and squeeze in Tic-Tac-Mistletoe by N.R. Walker, which came out recently. It's currently available to buy on KU and sounds like a super cute Hallmark movie style Christmas romance.
Is there a new release you're still waiting for?
Yes! I'm desperately hanging on for TJ Klune's sequel to Blasphemy, which I'm hoping will be out this month, even though I can't see an official release date yet. If you haven't read it, you can check out Blasphemy for free on TJ's website! It's ridiculous, hilarious and so much fun!
I'm also looking forward to A Universe of Wishes which is a collection of diverse YA/Fantasy short stories featuring 15 authors including Victoria Schwab, Dhonielle Clayton and Libba Bray. I mean, just look at that cover!! It comes out in a couple of days on 8th December 2020.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Haha, I think my answer to question one pretty much answers this one but I do want to try to squeeze in as many books as possible this year. I'll be taking a break from work (for the first time in forever) and I can't wait to spend the time reading!
I'd love to finish the Throne of Glass series (I have Tower of Dawn up next) and I want to read The Binding by Bridget Collins. But, who knows...I'll probably end up bingeing Christmas romances on KU before my subscription expires.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?
Maybe, but probably not. I'm expecting good things from both The Library of the Unwritten and A Rage of Dragons because I've heard amazing things about both. But, honestly, I don't think anything will beat The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune which is definitely my favourite book of the year!
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO DAMN MUCH!! I urge everyone to read it!
Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?
Not really, I don't tend to plan my TBR in advance. I'm a mood reader so I literally just pick up whatever strikes my fancy. It could be a new release, it could be a book that I've had sitting on my shelves for years or it could be something completely random that I stumble across in a shop or on my Kindle.
Let's just say, I love a good surprise!
And that's it for now!
Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this post and if you'd like me to do more of these. Tag created by Ariel Bissett. I tag anyone who wants to take part! I hope you reach your reading goals this year! Comments are closed.
