Happy Sunday bookworms! It's time for another Sunday book tag. This time, I've decided to go with The Netflix book tag because of the upcoming Shadow and Bone adaptation that I'm really looking forward to watching. I saw this book tag on A Book Lovers Playlist, and it was originally created by A Darker Shade of Whitney. Right, let's get to it! 1. Recently Watched - The last book you finished readingLore by Alexandra Bracken. I just finished reading this for the March 2021 Turn the Page book club. It was a fantastic read, full of deceptions and treachery, and very reminiscent of The Hunger Games, but with a great Greek Mythology twist. 2. Top Picks - A book/books that have been recommended to you based on books you have previously readDoes it count if Goodreads recommended it to me? 😅 The last book it recommended was The Unbroken by C.L. Clark, recommended to me based on my love of Malice by Heather Walter. This book sounds fantastic, so I'm really excited to read it. 3. Recently Added - The last book you boughtOkay, so, the last book I bought was a pre-order. I pre-ordered Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman. I love this series and cannot wait to get the next instalment. It's such a mood boost and something I could really use right now. 4. Popular on Netflix - Books that everyone knows about (2 you've read and 2 you have no interest in reading)2 I've read: - The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein - I love the Hobbit. It's one of my favourite books and I've read it a few times. - Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - I read this when I was around 16 and I loved it back then. I tried re-reading it recently and couldn't get into it but I have read it, so it counts! 2 I have no interest in reading: - Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James - I tried to read it and ended up giving up because I hated it so much. I have nothing against the genre, but this particular book just wasn't for me. - The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown - Another one I tried to read but sadly just couldn't get into. 5. Comedies - A funny bookJed Had to Die by Tara Sivec is more than just funny, it's hilarious. I honestly couldn't breathe for laughing while reading this and in fact, I think it's about time I re-read it! 6. Dramas - A character who is a drama queen/kingNoah from Noah Can't Even by Simon James Green is the very definition of a drama queen. He's hilarious, sassy and completely clueless. I love him and he holds a special place in my heart as the first of Simon's characters I got to know. 7. Animated - A book with cartoons on the coverLoki by Mackenzie Lee counts, right? I haven't read this one yet but I'd love to! Loki is one of my favourite characters. Add to that the 19th Century London setting with Mackenzie Lee's writing style and it sounds fantastic. 8. Watch It Again - A book/book series that you want to re-readGah, there are so many! But, the first series that springs to mind is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I haven't read it for a few years now and I've been longing to re-discover it. Will I ever do it, who knows?! 9. Documentaries - A non-fiction book you'd recommend to everyoneWe Bought a Zoo by Benjamin Mee is an incredible book. It's one of the few non-fiction books I've read that reads like a work of fiction. It's truly fantastic and served as the inspiration for one of my favourite films of all time with the same name. 10. Action and Adventure - An action packed bookI didn't plan to read or enjoy The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer after reading a ton of negative reviews, but I took a chance on it and absolutely loved it. The story is insane and the action never stops. 11. New Releases - A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can't wait to readThe Infinity Courts by Akemi Dawn Bowman came out this week and it sounds fantastic. It's at the top of my list to look for when book shops re-open next week. 12. Tag Some PeopleAs always, I tag anyone who wants to take part! And that's all! I hope you've had a fantastic weekend filled with plenty of reading!
