Happy Sunday! I really haven't done a new book tag for a couple of weeks, but I spotted the What Cats Do Book Tag on Books Are 42 and really wanted to give it a go! This tag was created by Melting Pots and Other Calamities. Let's do it! Purr – As Cats Do This When They’re Happy or Relaxed, What Is the Book That Makes You Happiest or Relaxed? I have a few, actually. The Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman never fails to bring a smile to my face, Alex in Wonderland by Simon James Green, and Checkmate and Truce by R.L Mathewson. If I'm feeling stressed and out of sorts, these are my go-to comfort reads. Sleep – What Is A Book That Put You to Sleep or Was Just Boring? The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury just didn't do it for me at all. I got a little way into and just couldn't carry on. BUT...I might re-try it at some point because it could just be that I wasn't in the right headspace or mood at the time and I do like the premise, I just couldn't get into it at the time. Also, I met Melinda at the NYALitFest a couple of years ago and she was really nice and signed my copy of this, so I do really want to give it another shot. Twitch While Dreaming – Have You Ever Dreamt of a Book You Read? Haha, yes! I do this quite a lot actually. I think most recently I was dreaming of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! Seems to Play Nice…Until the Claws Are Out – Which Book Had the Biggest Plot Twist(s)? Oh boy, this is a tough one! Books with huge plot twists (ones that I don't at all see coming) are my favourites. I love nothing more than when a book takes me completely by surprise and there a quite a few that have done this. Two that immediately spring to mind though are, The Wicked King by Holly Black and Nevernight by Jay Kristoff because, wow! These two books had me shooketh! Cuddles – Which Book Character Would You Give A Hug To? Sam from The Lightning Struck Heart by TJ Klune. Sam loves hugs, he gives the best hugs, and I think he'd be a great person to hug (for at least 20 seconds!) Catnip – What’s A Book That Made You Have Warm and Fuzzy Feels? Can I say The House in the Cerulean Sea again?! Good, because I'm going to! Cat Breeds – What Are Your Favorite Books? This is an impossible question to answer. So, instead, I'm going to list just ten of my favourite books: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Eldest by Christopher Paolini The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune Jed Had to Die by Tara Sivec Blind Beauty by KM Peyton The Beast's Heart by Leife Shallcross Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera The Princess and the Captan by Anne-Laure Bondoux Getting the Cat – How Did You Find Your Favorite Book(s)? I find most of my favourite books while wandering the aisles of my local bookshop until they jump out at me. But sometimes they're from book twitter or BookTube recommendations. The Vet’s Office – Your Least Favorite Book: Fallen by Lauren Kate. It was a travesty and I hated it. Honestly, at the end, I felt like how she looks on the cover! Being in Places They Shouldn’t – Least Favorite Cliché:
Final Question: The Good Old Cardboard Box- Most Underrated Book Series: I don't really have great follow through when it comes to finishing series at the moment. Honestly, if I had to list all of the series I'd started and hadn't finished, it'd be a lot longer than this book tag post. BUT, I do feel like I need to give a shoutout to the Spellslinger Series by Sebastien de Castell here, because, even though I haven't finished it yet, I absolutely love this series so far and I can't understand why no one talks about it. It has everything; magic, treachery, deception, dark magic, bloodthirsty squirrel cats and so much more. It's one of my favourite series and I'm equal parts excited and nervous to see how it all ends. Also, the artwork on these books is some of the best I've ever seen! Now, it's your turn. I'm tagging anyone who wants to take part!
And for no reason at all, here's a quick photo of my two fur babies! Do you have cats? Comments are closed.
